Good Faith Estimate Notice
Under the federal No Surprises Act, uninsured and self-pay patients have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of expected charges before receiving care.
Your Right to a Good Faith Estimate
If you do not have insurance, or you are not planning to use insurance to pay for your care, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate ("GFE") of the expected charges for the consultation, membership, lab, or medication services you request, as required under the No Surprises Act (Public Law 116-260).
What the Estimate Includes
Your GFE will reflect expected charges for the specific consultation or service you schedule, based on BetterWell's published, transparent pricing:
- Initial Consultation$175
- Clinical Membership$149 / month
- Follow-Up Visit$125
Additional charges — such as compounded medication, shipping, or third-party laboratory fees — will be disclosed separately before you are billed, since these depend on the specific protocol your provider recommends following your evaluation. Because a Good Faith Estimate is based on information known at the time it is provided, it is not a contract and does not include any unknown or unexpected costs that may arise during treatment.
When You'll Receive Your Estimate
A Good Faith Estimate is available to uninsured and self-pay patients upon scheduling, and no later than one (1) business day before a scheduled service requested at least three (3) business days in advance (or three (3) business days before a service requested at least ten (10) business days in advance). You may also request a GFE at any time before scheduling by contacting our care desk.
Your Right to Dispute a Bill
If you receive a bill that is substantially higher — $400 or more — than the amount on your Good Faith Estimate, you have the right to dispute the bill through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' patient-provider dispute resolution process. You must start the dispute process within 120 calendar days of the date on the original bill.
